Vishay Intertechnology Announces Acquisition of Tansitor Electronics
Vishay Intertechnology Inc. (Malvern, PA) announced the acquisition of Tansitor Electronics Inc. (Bennington, VT). Tansitor is the leading manufacturer of wet tantalum electrolytic capacitors and miniature conformal coated solid tantalum capacitors with manufacturing facilities in Vermont and Barbados. In the fiscal year ended October 28, 2000, Tansitor had net sales of approximately $19.0 million.
Felix Zandman, chairman and CEO of Vishay, stated, "With this acquisition, we are gaining access to a niche market for specialty tantalum capacitors, which will complement our Vishay/Sprague division and broaden our product portfolio for military, aerospace and medical applications where Tansitor products excel. The Tansitor acquisition will be accretive immediately."
