CHiL Semiconductor Expands Worldwide
CHiL Semiconductor Corp. announced that it is expanding its worldwide sales and support channels by opening sales offices in Japan and in Europe. According to the company, high electricity costs have made CHiL’s energy efficient solutions, which result in increased efficiency across the entire load line, particularly attractive in these markets.
"CHiL is committed to bringing highly efficient, cost effective digital power to the computing and communications markets worldwide." stated Jonus Chen, CHiL’s Vice President of Sales. "Driven by high electricity costs, both Japan and Europe have an extremely strong sense of urgency about the need to save energy. Our customers strive to be leaders in energy efficient solutions and have chosen to work with CHiL’s technology to bring them to the next level."
Customers in Japan will find CHiL products supported by a prominent Japanese distributor, Hakuto Co., Ltd., which supports leading edge technical suppliers with a focus on energy savings.
To support its European customers, CHiL Semiconductor has engaged the technical sales representative firm Eurosemi, headquartered in Germany and supporting customers throughout Central, Southern and Eastern Europe.

Energy Efficiency with Class D Amplifier Modules
Class-D switching amplifiers are helping audio designers create personal multimedia devices and home audio/visual systems that demonstrate how compact and stylish equipment can also deliver high sound quality and high audio output power. The key to this breakthrough, providing freedom from the large and bulky boxes housing traditional audio products, lies in the class-D amplifier’s high energy efficiency, which is typically around 90%. This allows designers to reduce or eliminate heatsinks as well as using smaller-sized PCBs and smaller components such as transformers, connectors and power supplies.

The Role of Hall Effect Sensors in Power Distribution Infrastructure
Power distribution units (PDUs) form an essential part of modern computing and data communications hardware. They provide multiple outputs for transferring electrical power with maximum efficiency, controlling the power capacity and safeguarding against the possible causes of supply interruption. With an ever increasing need from tech savvy consumers for higher data throughput and greater quantities of data storage capacity, as well as tough international legislation now governing CO&sub2; emissions, the demands being placed on these units are proving challenging for engineering teams to satisfy.
