Bergquist Releases New Sil-Pad 1500ST Interface Material

March 02, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

The Bergquist Company (Chanhassen, MN) released its new Sil-Pad 1500ST (soft tack) high-performance, fiberglass-reinforced, silicone-based, thermal interface material designed for use in power supply, automotive electronics, motor control and power semiconductor applications, as well as placement between an electronic power device and its heatsink.

The Sil-Pad 1500ST features thermal impedance of 0.23 °C-in²/W at 50 psi, and an inherent tack on both sides of the material, which keeps the material on the carrier liner during converting and dispensing, eliminating the need for additional adhesive layers that typically decrease thermal performance by increasing interfacial resistance.

The Sil-Pad 1500ST is available in bulk roll or sheet form in 8-mil thickness, and in sheet form for 12-mil thickness material. The material can also be supplied for die-cut, kiss-cut or butt-cut parts in any shape or size. The Sil-Pad 1500ST is priced at $0.518 for 1 in x 1 in, 5,000-piece quantities.
