Agilent Intros B1500A Semiconductor Device Analyzer

April 03, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

Agilent Technologies Inc. (Palo Alto, CA) introduced its new B1500A Windows™-based semiconductor device analyzer that integrates capacitance versus voltage and current versus voltage measurements into a single instrument. The B1500A provides a complete, self-contained and expandable solution for parametric characterization and analysis capable of handling 65 nm lithographies and beyond.

The modular instrument has a 10-slot configuration and supports Agilent's new EasyEXPERT software. The Agilent B1500A offers a high degree of flexibility to help reduce the cost of test. Its 10-slot configuration supports three source measurement unit (SMU) types: high-resolution SMU, medium-power SMU and high-power SMU. A multi-frequency capacitance measurement unit (MFCMU) is also available, and a 4.2 A ground unit is included with the B1500A mainframe. The MFCMU can measure capacitance at up to 5 MHz and provide ±25 V of dc bias.

The Agilent B1500A semiconductor device analyzer is now available. Pricing starts at $45,000 for a basic four-SMU IV measurement solution, and $58,000 for a basic CV-IV measurement solution. The product is expected to ship in August 2005.
