Digi-Key Corp. and Conec Sign Global Distribution Agreement
Digi-Key Corp. and Conec Corp. announced the signing of a global distribution agreement. Conec is a developer and manufacturer of connectors for the electronics and communications industries. Digi-Key is a growing electronic component distributor, currently shipping product to more than 140 countries around the globe.

Digi-Key is stocking a large variety of Conec’s D-Sub, including filtered D-Subs, combination D-Subs, water sealed D-Subs, D-Sub hoods and accessories. Other high-end connector systems, such as AdvancedTCA Zone 1 Power Connectors and CompactPCI are also available. Conec’s products will be featured in Digi-Key’s print and online catalogs with this new distribution agreement enabling Digi-Key to fulfill both the prototype and production needs of its widespread customer base.
Conec develops, produces and markets connectors worldwide to the electronic industry in the telecom/communications, medical, industrial, instrumentation and automotive industry. Conec is certified under ISO 9001, QS-9000, ISO/TS 16949, and is CSA/UL/VDE approved.

Energy Efficiency with Class D Amplifier Modules
Class-D switching amplifiers are helping audio designers create personal multimedia devices and home audio/visual systems that demonstrate how compact and stylish equipment can also deliver high sound quality and high audio output power. The key to this breakthrough, providing freedom from the large and bulky boxes housing traditional audio products, lies in the class-D amplifier’s high energy efficiency, which is typically around 90%. This allows designers to reduce or eliminate heatsinks as well as using smaller-sized PCBs and smaller components such as transformers, connectors and power supplies.
