Delta Introduces PMC 12V 150W Wide Range Panel Mount Power Supply

Power Channels: Power Components

Delta Electronics Group introduced another Panel Mount power supply in its PMC series. The new PMC 12V 150W power supply operates at wide range input from 85 to 264Vac. Like its predecessors the compact and unique aluminum body weighs less than 540 Grams.

The product is said to come with a set of impressive specifications, including power efficiency of more than 87% and a typical MTBF of 700,000 hours. Delta PMC 12V 150W Panel Mount power supply also has superior power derating properties offering 100% load for complete input range from 85Vac to 264Vac in wide operating ambient from -10 to 50°C. According to the company, typical performance from similar competitors’ products can only achieve power derating of 90% from 115 to 135Vac and 75% at 88Vac and 100% load at 40°C only.

The product comes with several protection features including Overvoltage, Over current and Over temperature. The front end active PFC >0.90 at 230Vac can improve the harmonic current levels and reduces energy consumption. Delta’s excellent engineering has managed to encase this high performance product into one of the smallest foot prints in the market.

Energy Efficiency with Class D Amplifier Modules

Class-D switching amplifiers are helping audio designers create personal multimedia devices and home audio/visual systems that demonstrate how compact and stylish equipment can also deliver high sound quality and high audio output power. The key to this breakthrough, providing freedom from the large and bulky boxes housing traditional audio products, lies in the class-D amplifier’s high energy efficiency, which is typically around 90%. This allows designers to reduce or eliminate heatsinks as well as using smaller-sized PCBs and smaller components such as transformers, connectors and power supplies.
