E-Beam Power Supplies From UNIPOWER Feature Exceptional Arc Management Handling Capability

Power Channels: European Power News

UNIPOWER LLC announces the ERX/ERC Series high voltage electron-beam evaporation power supplies designed around the very latest in high frequency, switch-mode technology. Capable of providing up to 15kW, all models feature exceptional arc management handling capability for superior process performance.

As standard, ERX/ERC Series units are packaged in a single rack-mountable air cooled chassis which combines a stable 0.05%, low ripple high voltage output power source (up to 10kV) with a filament supply that provides 0 to 7V rms output with integrated filament and emission current regulation.

According to UNIPOWER, other key features of these electron-beam power supplies include low stored energy, remote control operation, air-insulated high voltage section and an instrumented front panel.

The ERX/ERC Series units operate from a single phase 230VAC input (3kW models) or 3-phase 208VAC (6 to 15kW models). Weighing between 50 - 65lbs (18.65 - 24kg) case dimensions are 19in x 10.5in x 22in (483 x 267 x 558mm).

Although ERX/ERC Series units are configured as standard, off the shelf units, UNIPOWER can customise these power sources to meet specific customer requirements.

UNIPOWER is headquartered in Coral Springs, Florida with operations in Brookfield, Connecticut, the UK and China. Headquarters houses a factory dedicated to low volume production of industrial products and telecom/network systems integration. The Connecticut facility is dedicated to the production of our Military and High-Voltage product lines. The U.K. operation includes Sales and Customer Support functions for European customers as well as an integration center for close customer support. High-volume manufacturing is undertaken at the company's dedicated operation in GuangDong, China.

Energy Efficiency with Class D Amplifier Modules

Class-D switching amplifiers are helping audio designers create personal multimedia devices and home audio/visual systems that demonstrate how compact and stylish equipment can also deliver high sound quality and high audio output power. The key to this breakthrough, providing freedom from the large and bulky boxes housing traditional audio products, lies in the class-D amplifier’s high energy efficiency, which is typically around 90%. This allows designers to reduce or eliminate heatsinks as well as using smaller-sized PCBs and smaller components such as transformers, connectors and power supplies.

The Role of Hall Effect Sensors in Power Distribution Infrastructure

Power distribution units (PDUs) form an essential part of modern computing and data communications hardware. They provide multiple outputs for transferring electrical power with maximum efficiency, controlling the power capacity and safeguarding against the possible causes of supply interruption. With an ever increasing need from tech savvy consumers for higher data throughput and greater quantities of data storage capacity, as well as tough international legislation now governing CO&sub2; emissions, the demands being placed on these units are proving challenging for engineering teams to satisfy.
