Eltek Constructing New Americas Headquarters in Texas

Eltek announced that it has broken ground on construction of a new facility that will consolidate its Americas region headquarters into one building that will include research and development facilities, manufacturing and warehouse operations, engineering, sales and administration organizations. The company plans to relocate its existing employees from Richardson to Plano when it takes occupancy of the new 124,000-square-foot facility at the end of this year.

After initially searching for an existing building to lease in the Dallas area, Eltek partnered with Argent Property Company and the City of Plano for development of a build-to-suit site located on East Plano Parkway in the Research/Technology Crossroads development in Plano, Texas.

The move addresses the increase in demand for Eltek's products and services, by combining the staff from two offices and a storage facility, and expanding the amount of production and office space available. Creating one new structure designed and built to Eltek's specifications will enable the company to improve operating efficiency and provide excellence in customer support and satisfaction.

"This move is a great step for Eltek, both economically and professionally as we look to increase local support for our growing customer demand," said Allen Pitts, Eltek President of the Americas region. "Consolidating multiple departments under one roof gives us a much better layout for R&D, enables us to provide faster response time to customers and improves product storage and shipping capabilities."

Energy Efficiency with Class D Amplifier Modules

Class-D switching amplifiers are helping audio designers create personal multimedia devices and home audio/visual systems that demonstrate how compact and stylish equipment can also deliver high sound quality and high audio output power. The key to this breakthrough, providing freedom from the large and bulky boxes housing traditional audio products, lies in the class-D amplifier’s high energy efficiency, which is typically around 90%. This allows designers to reduce or eliminate heatsinks as well as using smaller-sized PCBs and smaller components such as transformers, connectors and power supplies.

The Role of Hall Effect Sensors in Power Distribution Infrastructure

Power distribution units (PDUs) form an essential part of modern computing and data communications hardware. They provide multiple outputs for transferring electrical power with maximum efficiency, controlling the power capacity and safeguarding against the possible causes of supply interruption. With an ever increasing need from tech savvy consumers for higher data throughput and greater quantities of data storage capacity, as well as tough international legislation now governing CO&sub2; emissions, the demands being placed on these units are proving challenging for engineering teams to satisfy.
