SL Power's Industrial High-Efficiency 150W Power Supply Offers High Density & Cost Effective Solution
electronica 2012 Preview
SL Power Electronics, a division of SL Industries, announces its CINT1150 family, the latest offering in the high density single output open-frame AC/DC power supply line. Approved to EN/IEC/UL60950-1, 2nd edition, the CINT1150 family is ideal for lighting, industrial printers, gaming equipment, and many other applications where power density and cost are critical.
The AC/DC Power Supply will be on display during Electronica 2012 in Munich, Germany - Hall B2, Stand 609
Measuring only 2" X 4" and less than 1U (1.3") high, the CINT1150 provides 150W of output power under 200 linear feet per minute (LFM) airflow with 91% efficiency at 240Vac and 100W under convection. It surpasses Class B Conducted EMI and Class A with 6dB margin for radiated EMI. Compliant to EN61000-4-2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 11 EMC specifications, the CINT1150 series power supplies will ensure system-level compliance for those applications requiring compliance to these world-wide specifications. The CINT1150 operates at universal input range of 90 to 264Vac and wide temperature range -10°C to +70°C, delivering full rated output power up to +50°C. The CINT1150 models come with standard outputs of 12Vdc, 24Vdc, 48Vdc and 56Vdc. In addition, they feature Power Fail and DC OK signals.
"The addition of the CINT1150 series provides to our customers a wider availability of options when it comes to choosing the best solution for their power needs," said Greg Harris, Executive Vice President of Sales for SL Power. "Customers can now get a power solution more closely tailored to their specific requirements at a very affordable cost."
Available now through SL Power's extensive distribution sales channels, OEM pricing starts at $64 each for 500 piece orders. For more information on SL Power's extensive industrial, ITE, and medical power supplies, contact a local SL Power representative who can be found on the SL Power Web site.

Energy Efficiency with Class D Amplifier Modules
Class-D switching amplifiers are helping audio designers create personal multimedia devices and home audio/visual systems that demonstrate how compact and stylish equipment can also deliver high sound quality and high audio output power. The key to this breakthrough, providing freedom from the large and bulky boxes housing traditional audio products, lies in the class-D amplifier’s high energy efficiency, which is typically around 90%. This allows designers to reduce or eliminate heatsinks as well as using smaller-sized PCBs and smaller components such as transformers, connectors and power supplies.

The Role of Hall Effect Sensors in Power Distribution Infrastructure
Power distribution units (PDUs) form an essential part of modern computing and data communications hardware. They provide multiple outputs for transferring electrical power with maximum efficiency, controlling the power capacity and safeguarding against the possible causes of supply interruption. With an ever increasing need from tech savvy consumers for higher data throughput and greater quantities of data storage capacity, as well as tough international legislation now governing CO&sub2; emissions, the demands being placed on these units are proving challenging for engineering teams to satisfy.
