IDT to Present and Exhibit at electronica 2012

electronica 2012 Preview

Integrated Device Technology, Inc. (IDT®) announced that it will be exhibiting industry-leading products from its growing product portfolio at Electronica 2012, which will be held November 13-16 in Munich, Germany. IDT will also be speaking at Electronica, showcasing its leadership and expertise on PCI Express® solid-state drives (SSDs) based on the NVM Express standard and the impact of this technology in enterprise computing applications. IDT will be located in hall A4, booth 448.

IDT will be demonstrating its portfolio of mixed-signal solutions for a variety of applications, with emphasis on solutions for cloud computing and wireless infrastructure markets. Additionally, an industry-leading portfolio of timing solutions along with power management devices will be on display.

Rino Micheloni, manager of product definition and architecture in the Enterprise Computing Division at IDT, will present on "SSDs in the cloud computing era: PCI Express interface and NVMe." SSDs promise to address performance and power challenges of next-generation cloud computing applications, but the host interface to SSDs remains a performance bottleneck. This presentation will examine how PCI Express-based SSDs, together with an emerging standard called NVMe (non-volatile memory express), promise to solve the interface bottleneck.

IDT's award-winning wireless power solutions will be featured at the show. Alongside the world's first single-chip wireless power transmitter IC (IDTP9030) and multi-mode receiver (IDTP9020) for magnetic inductance technology, IDT will demonstrate additional magnetic inductance solutions as well as products for magnetic resonance technology.

Innovative IDT offerings for wireless infrastructure applications will be on exhibit, emphasizing the breadth of products that IDT provides for the entire signal chain of wireless infrastructure systems. These products include RF, high speed data conversion, RapidIO®, data compression, and timing solutions that provide a comprehensive system-solution.

Likewise, the breadth of offerings for cloud computing applications will be shown. IDT will demonstrate its latest high-performance PCIe switches along with the industry's first PCIe 3.0 signal-conditioning re-timers, targeted at enterprise computing, storage and communications applications. Examples of the recently announced innovative NVMe flash controllers and memory interface products will be featured, including information and product examples of the company's latest PCI Express timing devices.

Furthermore, demonstrations and examples of IDT's leading timing portfolio will be at Electronica. Featured products will include members of the industry-leading silicon timing portfolio as well as IDT's frequency control products, including CrystalFree™ MEMS oscillators and products from Fox Electronics, an IDT subsidiary.

Energy Efficiency with Class D Amplifier Modules

Class-D switching amplifiers are helping audio designers create personal multimedia devices and home audio/visual systems that demonstrate how compact and stylish equipment can also deliver high sound quality and high audio output power. The key to this breakthrough, providing freedom from the large and bulky boxes housing traditional audio products, lies in the class-D amplifier’s high energy efficiency, which is typically around 90%. This allows designers to reduce or eliminate heatsinks as well as using smaller-sized PCBs and smaller components such as transformers, connectors and power supplies.
