Power-One Inc. (Camarillo, CA) announced the new One-SMart family of surface-mount dc/dc converters providing low-voltage outputs from 1A to 30A. The comprehensive range of distributed-power-architecture-compatible products are available in low-profile form factors under 8.5mm.
Ultra-high efficiencies and current densities are achieved through design techniques, including integrated single-substrate planar transformers, which provide increased reliability by facilitating uniform heat dissipation. Additional benefits include 85 degrees C operation at full-rated power using only convection cooling (selected models). Highly automated manufacturing processes facilitate high quality and lead co-planarity. JEDEC trays are available for use in high-volume SMT lines with vacuum pick-ups.
Single- and dual-output products are available in a 36Vdc to 75Vdc input-voltage range. Selected models offer a 18Vdc to 36Vdc input or a wider 4:1 input-voltage range, and output voltages up to ±24Vdc.
